This Sericel is a reproduction of a hand inked, hand painted animation cel master specially created by The Animated Animations Company and Disney supervised animation artists. American Atelier of Garden, CA, used this master cel as a reference in the production of these sericels. Sixteen colors were used to recreate the color image, each of which has been exactingly screen printed, one color at a time, onto the cel.
The Animated Animations Company and Disney supervised the faithful recreation of the background accompanying this cel. While not an original production background, original layouts and frames from the film were used as reference. Color Service Inc. of Monterey Park, CA, has lithographically printed the resulting artwork on premium quality, acid free paper.
The Animated Animations Company, under license by Walt Disney Art Classics, published this limited edition in 2003. It is composed of a general edition of 2500 sericels. Walt Disney Art Classics and The Animated Animations Company approve the techniques used in the production of this edition and proofs thereof. Conforming to the practice of fine art printing, the film used to create the background is destroyed when the edition is closed.
The hank inked, hand painted cel master and background are archived with the publisher. There are no numbered impressions in the general edition. No additional multiples of this image, including proofs, have been produced in this limited edition except as necessary to replace pieces in this edition that are damaged in production or shipment, but still maintaining the stated edition size. Portions of the original elements used in the creation of this cel set up may be offered for sale at a later date.
